Overview
You’ll find this Giant Lumberjack & Giraffe outside of Arnold’s Family Fun Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Situated near Route 422 just off I‑76, the attraction is part of a large indoor entertainment complex that also offers go‑karts, laser tag, bowling, mini‑golf, arcade games and The American Treasure Tour Museum. As a free, standalone roadside photo‑stop, the pair of statues brings a playful complement to a day of family fun.
History
The statue is a rare variation of the classic Muffler Man line, originally modeled after ventriloquist Edgar Bergen’s Mortimer Snerd puppet, and sometimes likened to Alfred E. Neuman from Mad magazine. One of two that once adorned the Seaside Heights boardwalk, this figure was damaged during Superstorm Sandy in 2012. In August 2014, it was repaired and relocated to its current home alongside its giraffe sidekick.
