The American Treasure Tour Museum

A Journey Through America’s Whimsical Past

Overview
Tucked away in Oaks, Pennsylvania, just west of the Valley Forge National Historical Park and easily accessible from U.S. Route 422, the American Treasure Tour Museum offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages. Since opening in 2010, this 100,000-square-foot wonderland has delighted tourists with its massive and eclectic private collection that celebrates American pop culture, mechanical music, and rare curiosities from every era of the 20th century. Housed in a repurposed tire factory, the museum offers a two-part guided experience: a vibrant, music-filled walk through the Music Room and a whimsical tram ride through the expansive Toy Box. Whether you’re a collector at heart or just curious about America’s playful past, this hidden gem promises a fun-filled, family-friendly adventure.

Highlights
Visitors to the American Treasure Tour Museum are immersed in a sensory-rich environment that includes one of the world’s largest collections of automatic music machines, classic cars, animated displays, rare artifacts, and Americana memorabilia. The Music Room features musical instruments that play themselves, from Wurlitzer electric pianos to the intricate Mills Violano-Virtuoso. Meanwhile, the Toy Box tram ride transports guests through a surreal landscape of neon signs, vintage vehicles, giant shoes, Disneyana, circus art, and more—all accompanied by a lively audio narrative. The museum is continually expanding, with new additions regularly appearing in the displays, ensuring a fresh experience with every visit.

History of the Location
The museum is located within the historic confines of a former B.F. Goodrich tire plant, which operated from 1937 until its closure in 1986. Once a vital part of the local economy, the factory has since been transformed into a multi-purpose complex known as the 422 Business Center. The museum occupies a portion of the second floor, while the first floor is home to several family-friendly attractions including Arnold’s Family Fun Center. The transformation of this industrial site into a celebration of American creativity and nostalgia is a testament to the region’s commitment to preserving its heritage in imaginative and engaging ways.

The core of the museum’s collection belongs to a single anonymous owner with a deep passion for preserving the mechanical music machines, toys, artwork, and pop culture artifacts that defined past generations. Supplemented by a substantial loan from the Music Box Society International, the museum has grown into a collaborative cultural treasure trove.
