As a free, standalone roadside photo\u2011stop, the pair of statues brings a playful complement to a day of family fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>History<\/strong><br>The statue is a rare variation of the classic Muffler Man line, originally modeled after ventriloquist Edgar Bergen\u2019s Mortimer Snerd puppet, and sometimes likened to Alfred\u202fE.\u202fNeuman from Mad magazine. One of two that once adorned the Seaside Heights boardwalk, this figure was damaged during Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
